Pretty Bible makeover

I spotted a copy of The Message* at our local recycling centre the other day, so snapped it up as it was the nice ‘novel’ style version that is great for casual reading.

But the cover left a little to be desired, so it was makeover time!

I started by cutting a piece of pretty paper down to size, then popped little bits of double-sided tape onto the cover and spine.

I also taped on a pretty ribbon to use as a bookmark.

Once the book was covered and looking fab, I grabbed a couple of sweet embellishments.

One tag, one button, one Felicity Jane banner and one wooden heart later, and the Bible looks super sweet!

I love the bold print and the fact that it reads like a normal book.

I love giving found items like this a new lease of life – definitely one of those simple things that bring me joy!

* The Message is the Bible in everyday language; I’d highly recommend it. You can find a paperback copy online for about £5.

Oh, I’m so happy! Yes, it really does bring the original story to life, doesn’t it? Actual conversations in everyday language 🙂 xx
