Mini layout card

We cardmakers get moving fast: I’ve done my Christmas cards – I’m now on to the ‘thank you’s’ for the gifts my daughter will receive.

Here’s my favourite way to make a special card: it’s basically a mini-layout…

Start with your paint or texture paste layers, as with a mixed media layout

Use big strokes to create a loose look, then set aside to dry

Trim pretty papers to size and grab some nice neutral elements

Layer up your cluster, exactly as would on a layout

Then you simply embellish…

… and add a personal message on the pull-out tag (or get your daughter to, since these are technically her thank you’s!)
